£34,000 to £44,000 per year

Hours:
40 hours a week (8:00 to 16:30 Monday to Friday)

Job Description:

To reinforce our existing design team of 3 structural/mechanical engineers and 3 designers we are seeking an experienced engineer with a degree (preferably MEng or BEng + MSc) in Civil and/or Structural Engineering.

The role will primarily consist of conducting strength of material calculations for the design of steel masts and their supporting foundations. This includes frequency, fatigue and connections calculations. Candidates should have experience in steel, reinforced concrete and foundation design, to British Standards and Eurocodes including BS EN 1992, BS EN 1993 and BS EN 1997.

The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team but also be capable of using their own initiative. Candidate profile:

Minimum of three years industry experience including steel, reinforced concrete and foundation design.

A good understanding of British Standards and Eurocodes.

Civil and/or Structural Engineering degree (preferably to MEng or BEng + MSc level).

Affinity to a relevant institution (IStructE or ICE) and working towards achieving Chartered Engineer status.

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).

Comfortable in undertaking hand calculations and using analysis and design software (experience with any of the following is desirable but not essential: STAAD, MasterSeries, IDEA StatiCa or SolidWorks).
