DesignOur in-house design facility, headed by Mr Ivan Brocklehurst, is based at our Widnes Distribution Centre. Using a wide variety of structural design and detailing software packages we are able to provide a solution to any steelwork project requirement. Our design department are vastly experienced in all major steelwork design packages including Strucad and Solidworks Office Professional. Due to the onerous, installation specific conditions, imposed by BS8100, every lattice tower is made the subject of a detailed design check.Emphasis is placed on the detail design of fatigue sensitive structures, such as monopoles of any description utilising FEM analysis techniques for critical areas such as flanged connections, gussets and access/cable entry openings. The design team prides itself on its ability to offer cost effective practical design solutions working in close collaboration with network aperators and highway/planning authorities. All design work is carried out under our ISO9001:2000 policies and proceedures. Our recent achievements range from a £1,250,000 blast-proof building [Shell Uk Ltd, Stanlow] to smaller maintenance works on various scales. Our design professionals work extremely closely with our clients to ensure ongoing product development in a rapidly changing environment. We are also able to provide a detailed on-site survey and measurement service to supplement our design activities.
